FUN FACTS ABOUT WATER

Today we’re diving into all things water. We’ve selected lots of interesting facts about water for you and answer questions about how much water we drink in our lives (it’s a lot!), how much water we have in our bodies (it’s a lot too!) and much more.

 

  • 60 to 70% of our body is water.It’s a bit higher for newborns (77%) and men have more water in their bodies than women. Organs with high amounts of waterare the lungs (83%), muscles and kidneys (79%), and the heart and brain (73%). Even the bones are for 31% water!
  • We need to drink about two liters of water a day to stay healthy. Still water, sparkling water, and herbal tea are all great options and are much better choices than fizzy soft drinks or coffee. If you drink two liters of water a day, you’ll drink about 60,000 liters of water in our lifesince the average life expectancy is around 79 years.                                         
  • All around the world, people use water to make tea. From chai in India to earl grey tea in Great Britain: there are so many varieties around the world. Turkish people drink the most tea, followed bythe Irish and the Brits.                                             
  • The use of sparkling water is on the risethese days, mainly because people are more aware of the health concerns related to drinking soft drinks. We at PURE WATER love this trend.                                                                                                    
  • Looking for foods to quench your thirst? Try cucumbers. These refreshing vegetables contain a whopping 96% water. Other great options are zucchini, with 95% water, and watermelonwith around 92% water.                                                                         
  • We also need a lot of water to produce other drinks, like beer and coffee for example. It takes about 150 liters of waterto produce one pint of beer and 200 liters to produce the beans for one cup of coffee. We like to be mindful of the choices we make when it comes to what we drink. Why waste so much water on producing other drinks when you can enjoy water in its purest form with PURE WATER?
